Bengaluru: Strengthening the BJP organisation at the grassroots, preparing for upcoming Legislative Council elections and stepping up its campaign against the Karnataka government’s alleged administrative failures were among the key issues discussed at party meetings held at Jagannath Bhavan in Bengaluru.
BJP state president BY Vijayendra said the party was committed to taking the NDA government’s development initiatives to the last person while expanding its organisational network through sustained public outreach.
In a social media post following the office-bearers’ meeting and the core committee meeting, Vijayendra said strengthening the party and ensuring that the benefits of development reached every section of society remained central to its service campaign.
Focus on booth-level organisation
The office-bearers’ meeting, held under the leadership of the party’s newly appointed co-in-charges for Karnataka, discussed strengthening the organisation from the booth level, enhancing the role of grassroots workers and improving coordination among party functionaries.

Leaders also deliberated on communicating the BJP’s position on public grievances, key state issues and government policies, while making organisational activities and political campaigns more effective.
Preparations for Legislative Council elections
The core committee reviewed the state’s political situation and discussed preparations for the upcoming Legislative Council elections and other political challenges.
The meeting also focused on framing strategies to highlight the Congress government’s alleged administrative failures and take up public issues through sustained political action, Vijayendra said.
The party welcomed Dr Kasam Venkateshwarulu, newly appointed BJP co-in-charge for Karnataka, during his first visit to the state.
Senior leaders attend meetings
Former chief ministers BS Yediyurappa, DV Sadananda Gowda and Basavaraj Bommai attended the meetings, along with Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R Ashoka and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy.
Former deputy chief ministers Govind Karjol and Dr CN Ashwathnarayan, former minister and MLC CT Ravi, former minister Sriramulu, former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and core committee member Nirmal Kumar Surana were also present.
BJP national vice-president Prof M Nagaraj, state general secretaries Preetham Gowda, P Rajeev and Nandish Reddy, along with other senior leaders and office-bearers, participated.
Vijayendra reiterated that the party would continue its organisational activities, public outreach and political campaign on issues concerning Karnataka, while working to communicate the NDA government’s development programmes to the public.
