Telangana Governor, CM greet people on Vijayadashami, pray for peace and prosperity

Hyderabad, Oct 20 (IANS) Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy greeted people on the occasion of Vijayadashami on Tuesday.

The Governor extended warm Vijayadashami greetings to the people of Telangana, wishing everyone peace, prosperity, happiness and success.

He noted that Vijayadashami symbolises the triumph of righteousness over unrighteousness, truth over falsehood, and good over evil. He expressed his hope that this festival would foster courage, commitment to righteousness, virtuous conduct, and a positive outlook among all people.

Governor Shukla prayed that, with the blessings of Goddess Durga, the state of Telangana may flourish in peace and prosperity, and that the lives of all its citizens may be filled with happiness, joy, and success.

He also called upon everyone to contribute their part towards the development of a progressive Telangana, guided by the spirit of unity, mutual respect, and social responsibility.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Vijayadashami, a festival symbolising the triumph of good over evil and righteousness over lawlessness.

“The auspicious Dussehra holds a special place in the culture and traditions of Telangana,” the Chief Minister said. He noted the festival imparts great values such as courage, righteousness, truth, unity, and self-confidence.

The Vijayadashami festival is for everyone to strive towards building a society rooted in love, compassion, brotherhood, and humanity by shedding negative traits like ego, jealousy, hatred, and injustice, he said.

“I sincerely wish that this Vijayadashami brings joy to every home, fills every family with happiness and prosperity, and bestows good health, abundant wealth, and success upon everyone,” the CM said.

CM Revanth Reddy remarked that the auspicious day reminds us of the power of the Goddess, who vanquished the demon Mahishasura, and the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana.

The Chief Minister also highlighted a unique tradition in Telangana, worshipping the ‘Jammi tree’ and exchanging its leaves, regarded as ‘gold’, with elders to seek their blessings. This custom serves as a reminder to cherish nature and show respect toward one’s elders, the CM said.
