Simultaneously, the government has unveiled the ‘Kalyan Sathi’ mobile application, an old age home portal, and the departmental quarterly magazine ‘Kalyani’ to enhance support and communication for the elderly.

Senior citizens eligible for various schemes can now access benefits by simply dialing the Kalyan Sathi helpline number. The department ensures that beneficiaries receive scheme benefits at their doorstep through Panchayat assistants, with services operational from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on working days.

A government spokesperson highlighted that approximately 53 lakh elderly individuals are already benefiting from pension schemes administered by the department.

Social Welfare Minister Aseem Arun emphasized the importance of resolving issues faced in accessing information and benefits of departmental schemes. The Social Welfare Department operates an Integrated Command Centre, where individuals can call the Kalyan Sathi helpline number (14568) to register any issues related to availing benefits.

The helpline facilitates the resolution of registered problems through regular monitoring at the district level, ensuring beneficiaries are informed of progress. Immediate resolution of issues related to schemes such as scholarships and mass marriages is also assured.
