UN Training Centre in Gaza Attacked; Nine Dead

Gaza: A UN training centre in Khan Younis, Gaza, came under attack and was set on fire, resulting in at least nine casualties, according to a statement by Thomas White, the director of UNRWA in Gaza. The building, housing 800 people, was hit by two tank rounds, leaving 75 others wounded. Rescue efforts by UNRWA and the World Health Organization are underway, with witnesses attributing the incident to Israeli bombing in the western areas of Khan Younis.

Eyewitnesses reported a large fire engulfing the training centre, hindering the arrival of ambulances and medical teams due to the Israeli-imposed siege. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the shelling, denouncing it as part of Israel’s systematic targeting of UNRWA’s institutions, staff, schools, shelters, and equipment.
