Lucknow: A devastating accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district resulted in the loss of six lives and left three others critically injured. The incident occurred when a truck collided with a car near Prasad College, under the jurisdiction of the Gaura Badshah police circle, during the early hours of Sunday.
Among the deceased are two women, and all the victims, hailing from Sitamarhi district in Bihar, were returning from a wedding ceremony. The injured individuals have been rushed to the hospital, where their condition is reported to be critical.
Reports from the police suggest that the accident transpired when the car attempted a U-turn and was struck by a truck approaching from behind. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem.
