The differences within the Telangana BJP have come to the fore once again

Hyderabad: The differences within the Telangana BJP have come to the fore once again, as evident during a recent party program. During the event, senior leader and former MP Vijayashanthi left abruptly, expressing discomfort over the presence of certain individuals who had been strong opponents of the creation of Telangana. Though she did not mention any names, her dissatisfaction seemed directed at Kiran Kumar Reddy, the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, who recently joined the BJP and is now a member of the party’s national Executive Committee.

Outgoing state President Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that he was removed from his post due to complaints and false reports sent by some leaders to the party’s central leadership. In his speech, Bandi Sanjay made tongue-in-cheek remarks, urging those within the party to stop making complaints against others and allow Kishan Reddy to work.

Another BJP leader, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, became emotional during his speech, expressing his sadness at seeing Bandi Sanjay removed as the state party chief. He credited Bandi Sanjay with infusing energy into the party and dispelled rumors that he was planning to quit the BJP. Rajagopal Reddy had joined the BJP after leaving the Congress last year but was unable to retain the Munugode Assembly seat in the subsequent by-election.

The gathering also saw the presence of central leaders Tarun Chugh and Prakash Javadekar, who listened to the views and concerns expressed by the local BJP leaders.

In his speech, Kishan Reddy emphasized the significance of the upcoming 100 days for the BJP. He announced that the party would organize protests on July 24 and 25 to voice their concerns about the double bedroom scheme. Furthermore, the BJP intends to launch protests demanding pensions and ration cards for new applicants. The internal differences within the party highlight the challenges it faces in maintaining unity and coherence while working towards its political goals in Telangana.
