Hyderabad: Telangana’s Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, soliciting the Centre’s support for multiple projects in the state.
Chief Minister Reddy requested funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure access to drinking water for every household in Telangana. Additionally, he urged for the allocation of 29 IAS officers to the state and advocated for the establishment of an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad. Furthermore, he sought the Centre’s cooperation for the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail and the development of the Musi Riverfront.
One of the significant requests made by the Chief Minister was for the construction of an elevated corridor on the Hyderabad-Srisailam national highway, passing through the Amrabad forest area. He emphasized the importance of this project in easing traffic congestion and reducing the distance between Hyderabad and Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh.
Moreover, Chief Minister Reddy highlighted the need for additional power production in the state, urging the Centre’s support to augment the capacity by 2,400 MW. He also addressed the Tummidihatti lift irrigation project, expressing readiness to proceed with it and urging cooperation from Maharashtra for land acquisition and water sharing.
In gratitude for the Centre’s permission for the construction of elevated corridors on certain highways, Chief Minister Reddy requested the transfer of land in the Cantonment area and military dairy farm lands for various reservoir and infrastructure projects.
He appealed for the transfer of the Shameerpet field firing range back to the state, whose lease has expired.
