Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized the Modi government, asserting that it has failed to uphold commitments made to the nation and the state. Speaking at a news conference held at the Congress headquarters, Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy accused the Centre of neglecting the rights of the people of Telangana.
Reddy highlighted India’s alarming rate of farmer suicides, deeming it an ‘achievement’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He argued that Modi’s administration fell short on various promises to farmers, including the commitment to double their income. Reddy questioned the fate of Modi’s pledge to unearth black money and deposit Rs. 15 lakhs in every bank account.
Furthermore, the Telangana Chief Minister claimed that the Centre did not honor commitments outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, such as establishing a steel factory at Bayyaram and a coach factory at Kazipet. He also pointed out the lack of progress on the Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR) project approved for Hyderabad.
Reddy went on to allege that the Modi government is unable to procure paddy grown in the state and accused it of focusing primarily on buying legislators to destabilize non-BJP governments. The accusations underscore a broader discontent with the perceived unfulfilled promises of the central government.
