Six Killed in Lightning Strikes Across Rajasthan

Jaipur: Tragedy struck Rajasthan on Friday as six individuals lost their lives in separate incidents of lightning strikes across the state, according to officials.

In Lalsot, Dausa, a 17-year-old girl student and a 25-year-old youth fell victim to lightning strikes. Additionally, another girl student was fatally struck by lightning while returning home from school in Daulatpura.

In Sawai Madhopur, a husband and wife, Rajendra (30) and Jalebi Meena (28), met their demise while working in the fields. Another resident of the district, Dhannalal, also lost his life to a lightning strike.

Tragically, another woman named Beena Devi was killed while working in a field during the thunderstorm.

Authorities emphasized the importance of seeking shelter in safe locations during thunderstorms and lightning, cautioning against standing or sitting near trees.

The Meteorological Department had previously issued an ‘orange alert’ for seven districts, including Karauli, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, Tonk, and Dausa, urging residents to take precautionary measures.
