School Toilet Cleaning Scandal Erupts Again Despite Chief Minister’s Warnings

Shivamogga: In Shivamogga District, Karnataka, another incident of students being tasked with cleaning school toilets has surfaced, despite Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s stern warnings. The embarrassing revelation poses a challenge for the Congress government, especially as the Minister for Education, Madhu Bangarappa, hails from the affected district.

Students in Guddada Neralakere village, within the Komaranahalli gram panchayat, were reportedly involved in the cleaning of toilets, an incident captured on video and widely circulated on social media.

The Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) promptly filed a complaint with Assistant Commissioner Satyanarayana, alleging that the headmaster, Shankarappa, and other teachers had compelled the students to clean the toilets.

Outraged parents and activists are now calling for decisive action against the implicated teachers. This comes just weeks after the Karnataka Police arrested a headmistress in Bengaluru for a similar offense of making children clean toilets, further highlighting the pressing issue of such incidents within the state’s schools.
