Hyderabad: Rahul Gandhi is set to embark on a campaign tour of Telangana in the first week of November. While the precise schedule of his visit is yet to be confirmed, it is expected that he will focus on the southern districts of Telangana during this phase.
The election campaign for the Congress party in Telangana was kickstarted by Rahul Gandhi and his sister, party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, on October 18 with a public meeting in Mulugu.
Rahul Gandhi actively participated in the Vijayabheri bus yatra on October 19 and 20, which covered various constituencies in five districts in north Telangana.
The state party Working President, Mahesh Kumar Goud, announced that the second phase of the bus yatra will commence from October 28. However, the schedule and the leaders participating in it have not been finalized yet.
On October 26 and 27, Congress leaders, including the Congress incharge for Telangana, Manikrao Thakare, state unit chief A. Revanth Reddy, and MPs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy, will campaign. They plan to visit two constituencies a day to explain the six guarantees announced by the party to the people.
Priyanka Gandhi is also scheduled to visit the state again on October 31, where she will address a public meeting in Mahabubnagar district. This public meeting, titled ‘Palamuru Praja Beri,’ will take place in the Kollapur constituency, with former minister Jupally Krishna Rao as the party candidate.
Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that after arriving at Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad, Priyanka Gandhi will head to Kollapur. He also revealed that a meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the party would be held in Delhi on Wednesday, where the second list of candidates is expected to be announced. The CEC will decide on the candidate for the Nizamabad Urban assembly segment, where he is one of the aspirants.
Other aspirants for this segment include former Mayor D. Sanjay, former DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan, and TPCC former Secretary N. Ratnakar.
Goud emphasized that Muslims in the region are seeking tickets for Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Mahbubnagar seats. He claimed that minorities are supporting the party, stating that only Congress can deliver justice to the minority communities.
