PM Modi Unveils Sant Ravidas Statue in Varanasi, Emphasizes Inclusive Ideology

Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated the 647th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas by unveiling his statue in Varanasi and paying floral tributes to the revered seer.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi highlighted Sant Ravidas’s inclusive vision, stating that he belonged to all and was revered by all. He emphasized the seer’s efforts to transcend caste divisions and foster societal unity, echoing the government’s commitment to inclusivity through initiatives like “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas.”

PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s dedication to uplifting the marginalized, irrespective of caste or creed, through policies aimed at mainstreaming the weakest and poorest segments of society. He cited various welfare schemes tailored to benefit the underprivileged, particularly women, including provisions for free toilets, ration, medical treatment, and gas cylinders.

Critiquing the opposition’s stance, PM Modi accused them of prioritizing familial interests over societal progress, highlighting their resistance to initiatives that promote social equity. He referenced the government’s nomination of an Adivasi candidate for the presidential role, condemning opposition parties’ objections as contrary to Sant Ravidas’s vision of societal harmony.

Before the unveiling ceremony, the Prime Minister participated in religious rituals and visited the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
