NIA team raid multiple locations in JK

Srinagar: NIA (National Investigation Agency) and J&K Police have conducted raids at multiple locations in Kashmir. The raids, carried out by CIK (Counter Intelligence Kashmir), are being conducted at 11 different places in districts including Bandipora, Srinagar, Shopian, Anantnag, Awantipora, and Pulwama.

The operation is part of the investigation into a terror recruitment case (FIR No. 06/2023) recently registered in Police Station CIK. The case involves a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) module that is believed to be handled from across the border. The CID CIK is currently handling the investigation.

To maintain an element of surprise, CIK conducted simultaneous searches at the targeted locations. The authorities are expecting to recover incriminating materials in both hard and soft form during the searches, and there is a possibility of arrests being made as well.

Meanwhile, the NIA also conducted raids in Pulwama district, specifically in areas like Rohmoo, Rajpora, Kakapora, and Karimabad, and additionally searched the residence of advocate Parvaiz Ahmad Shah in Kralpora area of Budgam district. It is reported that similar NIA raids are taking place at some other locations in the Valley.

The actions are part of the authorities’ ongoing efforts to combat terror activities and curb recruitment and support networks operating in the region.
