Ghaziabad, July 31 (IANS) The NCB trained a batch of 26 Maharashtra Police officers of the rank of Inspectors and above as Master Trainers in NDPS Act enforcement in a five-day programme that concluded here on Friday, an official said.
Sharing information about the completion of the course in a message on X, it said, “Building on the success of the first Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme conducted from 20–24 April 2026; NCB, in collaboration with BPR&D–CDTI, Ghaziabad, successfully organised the second 5-day ToT Programme from 27–31 July 2026 for Maharashtra Police officers.”
“The programme trained 26 officers of the rank of Inspectors and above as Master Trainers in NDPS Act enforcement,” it said.
The NCB said that with the successful completion of both programmes, Maharashtra Police now has a pool of 56 Master Trainers to further strengthen drug law enforcement capacity across the State.
Earlier, the Second Quarter State-Level Joint Coordination Committee Meetings of 2026 for Madhya Pradesh and Assam were held on Thursday to discuss coordinated action against drug trafficking and intelligence sharing with other law enforcement agencies.
An official statement said that the JCC meeting for Madhya Pradesh was convened in Bhopal and for Assam in Guwahati on Thursday, said an official statement.
The discussions focused on enhancing joint interrogations, financial investigations, coordinated enforcement operations, and cartel dismantling, reaffirming the commitment of all agencies towards a Drug-Free India.
In Bhopal, the JCC meeting was jointly chaired by the NCB DDG (Western Region) and the ADG, ANTF, Madhya Pradesh, with participation from NIA, SIB, IT, Customs, CBN, RPF, the State Prosecution Department, the Food and Drug Administration’s Office, and State Excise, said the statement.
At the Second Quarter State-Level JCC Meeting for Assam, convened in Guwahati, the officials discussed strategies to strengthen coordinated action against drug trafficking further.
The meeting was chaired by R. Sudhakar, Deputy Director General (NER), NCB, with participation from ANTF, Customs, CGST, Income Tax, DGGI, SIB, NIA, ED, DRI, Drug Controller, Assam Rifles, BSF, ITBP and District Superintendents of Police, said the statement.
