Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Transport Undertakings have garnered significant recognition by securing five prestigious National Public Bus Transport Excellence Awards for the year 2022-23, presented by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU).
Established on August 13, 1965, ASRTU boasts a membership of 62 State Road Transport Corporations and operates under the guidance of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Government of India. With a wealth of 59 years of experience, ASRTU is dedicated to enhancing the road transport systems across the nation.
Among the accolades, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) stands out, clinching two awards for its outstanding innovative branding initiatives in image building practices and personnel welfare, as well as productivity enhancements.
Additionally, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has been honored for its innovative operations involving Astra electric buses.
Furthermore, Karnataka’s Kittur Rani Channamma Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) and North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) have both been recognized for their exemplary road safety practices.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 15, 2024, at ASRTU headquarters in Delhi, where the distinguished Road Transport Corporations will be felicitated for their noteworthy achievements.
