Karnataka BJP President Denies Intent to Topple Congress Government

Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra has refuted claims that his party harbors any intention to destabilize the Congress government in the state. His remarks come in response to allegations made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who accused the BJP of offering Rs 50 crore to Congress MLAs to undermine his government.

Vijayendra emphasized the widespread support for the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the Lok Sabha elections across the nation. He suggested that the Congress government, led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, is gearing up for defeat in the polls.

According to Vijayendra, the recent “Delhi Chalo” episode and the barrage of statements against PM Modi were orchestrated to craft a narrative for the Congress to cope with anticipated electoral losses.

He further asserted that the state government’s issuance of such statements indicates its own preparations for the upcoming elections.

Vijayendra clarified, “We have no intention of toppling the current Congress government. However, the lack of development and dissatisfaction among Congress MLAs, who have received no funds from the Chief Minister even after nine months in power, reflect poorly on their governance.”
