ECI Imposes Prohibition on Exit Polls During Election Period

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a notification enforcing a ban on the conduct, publication, or dissemination of exit polls pertaining to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim.

The prohibition period will be effective from 7 a.m. on April 19 until 6:30 p.m. on June 1. This ban encompasses all media platforms, including print, electronic, and any other means of dissemination.

Furthermore, the ECI stipulates that the exhibition of any election-related content, such as the outcomes of opinion polls or other surveys, on electronic media will be strictly prohibited during the 48-hour window leading up to the conclusion of polling for the aforementioned general elections and Assembly polls.
