Cold Wave Persists in Kashmir Valley

Srinagar : The bitter cold continued its grip on the Kashmir region as Wednesday witnessed freezing temperatures under the clear night sky.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted dry weather conditions persisting until February 14, adding to the prolonged spell of cold across the valley. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg and Pahalgam dipped to minus 10 and minus 10.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Ladakh region, Leh witnessed a bone-chilling temperature of minus 16.2 degrees Celsius, while Kargil shivered at minus 19.5 degrees Celsius.

In the Jammu division, the minimum temperatures varied, with Jammu city experiencing 5 degrees Celsius, Katra at 4.1 degrees Celsius, Batote at minus 0.4 degrees Celsius, Bhaderwah at minus 2 degrees Celsius, and Banihal at minus 0.3 degrees Celsius.
