Varanasi, Sep 17 (IANS) On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday performed a special puja at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, praying for the Prime Minister’s long life and good health.
The puja was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary and several other senior leaders and party functionaries.
Speaking to reporters, CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Today is a day of great pride and good fortune for all of us as it is the birthday of India’s Prime Minister and Kashi MP Narendra Modi. We have just performed a special puja and ritual at the holy Baba Vishwanath Dham on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, along with the Defence Minister, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary and other senior leaders.”
“We have prayed that he lives a long and healthy life and leads India for the longest possible time, so that India becomes Aatmanirbhar and the dreams of Viksit Bharat are fulfilled. We have also prayed that under his leadership, India grows rapidly to become the world’s number one economy. We have prayed for all this today,” he told reporters.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said they have prayed to the God to grant PM Modi a long life.
“Today is September 17th. It is the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this occasion, I myself, along with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, LJP leader Chirag Paswan, and our State President Pankaj Chaudhary, all came here to Kashi Vishwanath to offer prayers and worship. The rituals and prayers have been formally and duly performed. We have prayed to the Almighty to grant our Prime Minister Modi a long life, that he remains healthy throughout his life, and that the goal of a Viksit Bharat can be accomplished,” he said.
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu also extended his heartfelt wishes, saying, “I am very happy to do pooja on this auspicious day, PM Narendra Modi’s birthday. He has completed 25 years in constitutional posts—as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. He is totally an able leader, uninterrupted, working for this nation. Never in the history of India, one person has continued for 25 years continuously.”
