BJP Tickets Allocated to Loyalists, Remaining Candidates Soon to be Named; Bommai

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai disclosed on Friday that tickets have been assigned to BJP loyalists, with the announcement of candidates for the remaining eight seats in the state expected within a day or two.

Speaking to reporters after paying respects to Maadara Chennaiah seer, Bommai shared that he visited the pontiff ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, receiving advice to work for the welfare of the peopleā€”a commitment he has upheld for many years.

Addressing speculation surrounding the Chitradurga Lok Sabha constituency ticket, Bommai mentioned discussions within the party’s central parliamentary board but clarified that no candidate name had been finalized. He refuted rumors about the incumbent MP being denied a ticket.

Responding to former minister K.S. Eshwarappa’s meeting with his followers in Shivamogga, Bommai assured that he had already communicated with leaders in Delhi, ensuring resolution of any issues. Additionally, he noted that sitting Haveri MP Shivakumar Udasi would join him in the campaign.

With over three decades of experience in state politics and two terms in the Legislative Council, Bommai expressed confidence in his substantial support base, attributed to his work alongside local bodies.
