Apple fixing bug that stops screen time limits for kids

Apple has acknowledged a bug that has been causing disruptions to its Screen Time feature, which allows parents to set usage limits for their children’s devices. The company stated that it is aware of the issue where Screen Time settings are unexpectedly resetting for some users. They assured users that they take such reports seriously and are committed to improving the situation through updates.

Initially, Apple had planned to address the bug problem in May, but it seems that the issue has persisted beyond that timeline. The Screen Time feature is an essential part of Apple’s Family Sharing system, which permits parents to establish usage restrictions on their kids’ devices. With Family Sharing, up to six family members can share various content, such as music, films, TV programs, apps, books, and subscriptions, without the need to share an Apple ID.

The Screen Time functionality provides valuable insights for parents, informing them about the amount of time their children spend on apps and websites. This data enables parents to make informed decisions regarding their kids’ device usage. Whether it’s the child’s device or a parent’s device, Screen Time can be set up and managed using Family Sharing. Moreover, parents can secure the settings with a dedicated passcode to ensure that only they have the authority to extend usage time or make adjustments. Apple remains committed to resolving the bug to enhance the Screen Time experience for families.
