Rahul Gandhi Firm: No Compromise on Constitution

Hyderabad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made a resolute declaration on Thursday, vowing to safeguard the Constitution amidst allegations that the BJP seeks to undermine it. Accusing the BJP of attempting to dismantle the Constitution, Gandhi emphasized its role in protecting the rights of the marginalized sections of society, including the poor, Dalits, tribals, and farmers. He condemned the BJP and RSS for their discussions on altering the Constitution, asserting that such actions not only threaten the underprivileged but also the essence of the nation itself.

Speaking at public gatherings in Medak and Medchal Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituencies in support of Congress candidates, Gandhi highlighted the significance of the Constitution as a symbol of empowerment for India’s impoverished communities. Displaying a copy of the Constitution, he paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for their sacrifices in its creation.

Gandhi accused the BJP of seeking to abolish reservations, contrasting this with the Congress’s commitment to expanding them beyond 50 percent. He criticized the Modi government’s privatization of public sector enterprises and promotion of contract labor, which he claimed undermine reservation policies. Promising a comprehensive caste survey if elected, Gandhi aimed to empower backward classes, Dalits, tribals, minorities, and economically disadvantaged individuals.
