Shimla: Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 15 National Highway projects and a Ropeway project, collectively valued at Rs. 4,000 crore, in the picturesque state of Himachal Pradesh.
The event, graced by BJP President J P Nadda, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur, Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh, along with MLAs and officials, witnessed the unveiling of several crucial infrastructure initiatives.
Among the projects inaugurated were the construction of Theog bypass on Devrighat-Premghat, a 196-meter long bridge on Kalruhi section, and a 225-meter long Dhaliyara bridge on National Highway 503 in Kangra district.
Additionally, foundation stones were laid for various road construction projects, including an 8 km long 4-lane missing link with a cable stay bridge on National Highway 503A towards Birhu-Lathiani. Notable among these was the construction of a 2 km long bridge from Mohal in Kullu to the renowned Bijli Mahadev Temple, at a cost of Rs 272 crore.
Other projects encompassed the construction of a ropeway, slope protection works spanning 4 km to prevent landslides on the Parwanoo-Solan section of National Highway 22, a 500 m long artificial tunnel on National Highway 5, and a 410 m long 2-lane RUB on National Highway 503. Four projects are in progress through construction and CRIF.
These initiatives are poised to significantly reduce travel distances and enhance connectivity, particularly benefiting areas like Tauni Devi, Awahdevi, Sarkaghat, Dharampur, etc., thereby fostering development and accessibility across Himachal Pradesh.
