Patna: Patna Police have taken action against Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), following accusations of making derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The complaint, lodged by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state spokesperson Krishna Singh alias Kallu, accuses Yadav of questioning the Prime Minister’s Hindu identity during a public rally.
The complaint, submitted at the Gandhi Maidan police station in Patna, was accepted and subsequently led to the registration of a case against Lalu Prasad Yadav. Sitaram Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Gandhi Maidan police station, confirmed the registration of the case and stated that investigations are underway.
During a Jan Vishwas rally held at Gandhi Maidan, Yadav reportedly made remarks insinuating that Prime Minister Modi was not a practicing Hindu, citing his alleged failure to adhere to traditional mourning customs upon the death of his mother. These comments have sparked controversy and accusations of inciting religious discord.
Krishna Singh, in his complaint, highlighted Yadav’s alleged indecent remarks and expressed concerns over their potential to hurt the sentiments of millions of people. Singh asserted that Yadav’s comments, which also touched on sensitive topics like the Ram temple, were inappropriate and warranted legal action.
