Punjab CM Announces Rs 1 Crore Assistance for Family of Deceased Farmer

Amritsar: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has declared financial aid of Rs 1 crore for the family of Shubhkaran Singh, a young farmer who tragically lost his life this week at the Punjab-Haryana border during the ongoing farmers’ protest.

In a statement shared on X, the Chief Minister assured that the Punjab Government would extend this support to the family of Shubhkaran Singh, who was martyred at the Khanauri border. Additionally, he pledged a government job for Shubhkaran Singh’s younger sister.

Mann vowed that necessary legal action would be taken against the perpetrators responsible for the farmer’s death. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring justice and accountability, promising to initiate a thorough investigation and register an FIR against those found culpable.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Bhagwant Mann affirmed that the state stands united in support during this difficult time. He assured that the government would provide both social and economic assistance to the family of the deceased youth.

Reflecting on his efforts to facilitate dialogue between farmers and the Union government, Mann lamented the failure to reach a consensus despite his mediation attempts. Nevertheless, he reiterated his dedication to serving the interests of Punjab’s farmers and vowed to continue advocating for their rights.
