PM Modi to Kickstart BJP’s Lok Sabha Campaign from Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the tribal-dominated region of Jhabua in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, addressing a rally aimed at galvanizing support.

Jhabua, known for its significant tribal population, holds strategic importance for the BJP as it seeks to secure victory in all 29 parliamentary seats in Madhya Pradesh, a feat accomplished in the previous two elections – 2014 (27 seats) and 2019 (28 seats).

State BJP President V. D. Sharma announced that PM Modi would headline a mega rally in Jhabua, expected to draw a large gathering of tribal communities from across Madhya Pradesh. The event marks the commencement of the BJP’s vigorous campaign for the Lok Sabha polls.

With 47 out of the state’s 230 Assembly seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes, their support remains crucial. In the 2023 Assembly elections, although the BJP clinched a significant victory by securing 163 seats, it faced setbacks in 20 tribal constituencies. Launching the campaign from a tribal stronghold and engaging with the community directly reflects a strategic move by PM Modi to bolster support.

The rally in Jhabua underscores the BJP’s concerted efforts to consolidate its position and secure a third term for the Modi government, leveraging the support of tribal communities while kickstarting the election campaign in Madhya Pradesh.
