Delhi: 300 vehicles charred in fire

New Delhi: In a devastating incident, approximately 300 vehicles were reduced to ashes in a fire that erupted at the malkhana (storage facility) of the Police Training School (PTS) in Delhi’s Wazirabad area, as reported by a police official on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey disclosed that the fire was reported at 12:35 a.m. behind PTS, prompting the deployment of six fire tenders. The firefighting efforts successfully extinguished the flames by 2:30 a.m. Unfortunately, a significant number of vehicles, including around 200 two-wheelers and 45 four-wheelers, suffered extensive damage. All affected vehicles were part of the case property of the Outer District.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and a case is being registered at Sonia Vihar police station under the appropriate sections, as stated by the DCP.
