In a targeted anti-terror operation, security forces successfully eliminated a member of the proscribed terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the Chotigam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday, according to official reports.

Acting on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the Chotigam village area of Shopian, a joint cordon and search operation was initiated in the early hours by the police, Army, and CRPF. The joint search party encountered indiscriminate firing from the hiding terrorist, prompting an effective retaliation and ensuing encounter.
