Huge cache of explosives recovered in Assam, 3 ULFA-I linkmen arrested

Guwahati: A significant quantity of explosives was seized in Assam, and three linkmen associated with the disbanded organization United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA-I) were apprehended. The successful operation took place in the Central Mamarani area of Digboi town in Tinsukia district.

Thanks to the swift action taken by a joint team comprising the police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Indian Army, a potential attack was foiled. The cache of explosives included 8 kg of PEK, 33 detonators, a power pack, and six batteries.

The arrests were made following extensive questioning of the three individuals identified as Sashankar Rajkhowa, Tutu Bora, and Juman Bora. Tutu Bora reportedly confessed during interrogation that the explosive material had been hidden close to a person named Hemanta Bora’s residence.

Subsequently, the joint team conducted a search at Hemanta Bora’s property and discovered a substantial amount of explosive material concealed there. However, Hemanta Bora remains at large, and authorities are actively pursuing him.

Juman Bora was taken to the Digboi police station for further interrogation as the police seek to gather crucial information relevant to the case.

The recovery of this cache of explosives and the arrests of the suspected linkmen represent a significant success for the security forces in their efforts to maintain peace and prevent potential terrorist activities in the region.
