Congress govt. didn’t do anything for the poor for 70 years: Amit Shah

Indore: During a speech in Indore, Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, emphasized significant achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He highlighted the successful surgical strike and the abrogation of Article 370 as key moments that showcased India’s strong response to terrorism.

Shah recalled that during the Congress-led UPA government’s tenure, Pakistani terrorists freely entered India and carried out attacks at their will. He mentioned the Pulwama attack as a stark example of this. However, after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, India responded with a surgical strike, demonstrating a firm stance against terrorism. This decisive action has deterred Pakistani elements from attempting terror activities within India’s borders.

The Home Minister accused the Congress of nurturing Article 370 for 70 years as if it was their own child. He praised the Modi government’s decision to abrogate Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, bringing it under the same laws as the rest of India. Shah also highlighted the foundation stone-laying ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi site after the Supreme Court’s judgment in favor of the construction of a Ram temple there.

Shah further elaborated on the various welfare schemes implemented by the central government under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, highlighting the number of beneficiaries these schemes have reached.

Additionally, he praised the welfare schemes introduced by the Madhya Pradesh state government and compared them favorably to the tenure of former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh.

In his speech, Amit Shah aimed to showcase the decisive actions taken by the Modi government, particularly concerning national security and welfare programs, while simultaneously criticizing the Congress’s past governance.
